Hurrah to Andrea!
We are all happy to share an excitement of Andrea passing the Preliminary Examination to become the Doctor of Philosophy in immunology and microbiology!
Andrea worked hard for weeks to write her research proposal and to prepare for the exam by rehearsing with a mock committee (us!).
We all felt a little nervous on Thursday, during her exam, as the memories of our own prelims came to mind.
Andrea's thesis deals with a very important topic of Listeria infection during pregnancy, transmission from mother to fetus, and the resulting immune response to the pathogen.
